Shannon Earle joined the Chancellor’s Office as Chief of Staff in June of 2016, having previously served as Assistant Provost of Admissions and Financial Aid since 2011. In her former role, Earle oversaw enrollment and financial aid services for all new, continuing and graduate level students. The university experienced consistent growth and record enrollment of incoming students beneath her management.
Earle came to UNC Asheville having served as Director of Development and Alumni Relations at Tennessee Wesleyan College and as Dean of Students and Director of Residence life at Young Harris College. Although her positions have been varied, her goal has been singular: helping first generation students and their families navigate the path to higher education, specifically a liberal arts education.
During her time at UNC Asheville, Earle has been an integral leader in community outreach initiatives designed to expose students of all ages to higher education. She has worked closely with Juntos, a Western North Carolina program that promotes access to higher education in the Latino community, as well as Gear Up which supports early college readiness.
Earle received her B.A. from Tennessee Wesleyan College and her MLAS degree from UNC Asheville.
